Product Engineer (water treatment applications) – Hungary

Context of need

With its Water Business Line, John Cockerill Environment provides solutions and technologies dedicated to industrial & municipal water treatment. John Cockerill Water is strengthening the development of its Water Equipment business with in-house manufacturing of stand-alone equipment.

We are looking for a Product Engineer (water treatment applications) to join our team and facilitate the design and manufacturing of our products such as ultrafiltration skids, reverse osmosis skids, containerized processes, pre-assembled systems, etc. This position will be filled at our manufacturing plant in Hungary.

Main tasks:

The Product Engineer will:

  • In collaboration with internal process experts, design products and make sure they are manufactured based on the relevant standards
  • Develop product designs that are cost effective and implement design to costs strategies
  • Handle product design work including the production of technical specifications (mechanical, IE&C components), hydraulic and structural calculations, CAD drawings, method statements for construction, etc.
  • Supervise any outsourced design or drafting works
  • Oversee assembly works and ensure that the product conforms to the specifications and safety regulations
  • Specify and validate factory acceptance test on manufactured products
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Material for the Products, including cost follow-up and updates
  • Produce and maintain the relevant documentation for the products
  • Report to the Product & Industrialization Manager

Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering or similar field
  • Relevant training and/or certifications as a Product Engineer
  • Proven work experience as a Product Engineer or similar role (minimum 7 years)
  • Knowledge and experience in water treatment field and construction of equipment
  • Autonomous profile, able to work from a blank page
  • Advanced analytical and design skills
  • Practical knowledge on CE machine directive requirement.
  • Structured, rigorous, organized management (diligent in follow-up)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English (French as a plus)
